Yongala Dive: 1 day SS Yongala Shipwreck Dive Trip

$292.00

In 1911, the SS Yongala sank without a trace in a tragic cyclonic event, and all 122 passengers died. It was another 50 years before the wreck was discovered, giving it time to turn into one of Australia’s most intriguing maritime mysteries. Today it is one of the world’s renowned dive sites and an exciting dive adventure.

The enchanted 109m long wreck is now an artificial reef at a dept of 14-28 metres, with an incredible array of marine life. Giant Queensland groupers hang beneath the stern while giant rays and schools of trevally, barracuda and mangrove jacks congregate around the wreck. And don’t forget the turtles, sea snakes, eagle rays and clown fish that can be seen.
